Dehradun : The children from backward and marginalized communities, who once couldn’t even dream of going to school, are now receiving an education. Their hands now hold notebooks and pens, and their eyes reflect a newfound hope. This transformation has been made possible through the relentless efforts of Manish. Working with Josh Welfare Society, he is reaching out to these children with peace and dedication to ensure they receive access to education which is also a fundamental right i.e. Right to Education under Article 21 of Indian Constitution.
Manish’s childhood was filled with struggles. However, with the support of his father, he was able to attain higher education from a prestigious college i.e. Gujarat National Law University. His life journey taught him that education is the most powerful weapon not only to fight poverty but also to protect one’s human rights.
To bring a positive change in the lives of underprivileged children, Manish decided to work with Josh Welfare Society under the initiative ‘Project Rainbow.’ For this, he chose to work at the project operating in Rajiv Nagar, Dehradun. Under the leadership of Ms. Supriya Chauhan, Manish is not only providing these children with basic education but is also making them aware of their rights especially the right to education and fundamental child rights such as safety, dignity, and equal opportunity.
Josh Welfare Society, under the guidance of Supriya Chauhan, not only helps children get admitted to schools but also works to convince their parents that education is a fundamental right of every child. The organization provides financial assistance to economically weak families by offering books, stationery, school uniforms, and help with school fees, ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to poverty. So far, over 400 children have studied under the initiatives of Josh Welfare Society, a testament to the depth and impact of this noble cause.
Today, Manish himself is regularly teaching 35 to 40 children subjects like basic mathematics, language, and general knowledge. His work is completely voluntary, and he considers it his moral duty. Manish says that the society and the institution that helped him reach where he is today he now wants to give back to that very society.
He gives complete credit for this opportunity to Supriya Chauhan, who not only provided him a platform but also guided and instilled in him the belief that he too could be a face of change. Supriya Chauhan’s vision for Josh Welfare Society has always been that any youth who was once backward or marginalized, if given the opportunity, can bring light into the lives of others.
Manish’s contribution at Josh Welfare Society is not limited to that of a volunteer he also plays a key role in planning the children’s studies, building communication with parents, and managing community classroom sessions. He has proven that when guidance meets determination, even a student can become a torchbearer for the entire community.
The joint effort of Manish and Josh Welfare Society is now bringing colour into the dreams of countless children. This is not just about education, but a sacred mission to restore human dignity and rights where young changemakers like Manish and Mentors like Supriya Chauhan are taking the lead.
