New Tehri: Meeting of the District Coordination Committee of the Health Department was organized on Sunday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, in which, children in the age group of 01 to 19 years were given deworming medicine Albendazole and Discussed/reviewed about maternal death. District Magistrate emphasised to ensure that 100% target is achieved by feeding deworming medicine Albendazole to children in all schools, Anganwadi centers and other educational institutions. All MOICs were instructed to do its random checking.All officers have also been instructed to ensure reporting of iron and folic acid tablets under ‘Anemia free India’ and feeding of deworming drug Albendazole under National Deworming Day during ‘Government at Janata Ke Dwar’ programme. All concerned departments were instructed to work in coordination with each other to make the program a success.
Chief Medical Officer Manu Jain said that in order to make the National Deworming Day a success, a target has been set to feed Albendazole to 01 lakh 78 thousand children in the district on August 22, 2023, under which children in the age group of 01 to 19 years will be dewormed. Children in school and Anganwadi centers and other education institutions. Deworming medicine Albendazole will be given in the institutions and children who have been left out of taking medicine on August 22 due to some reason will be given medicine in the mop up round on August 29, 2023. It is said that children of 01 to 02 years will be given half a tablet by making powder and children of 03 to 19 years will be given 01 tablet to eat. He explained that worm infection in children can be caused by various factors, including poor personal hygiene, eating raw and contaminated food, eating too many sweets and junk food, and its symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, gas. /Swelling, fatigue, weight loss without any reason, abdominal pain. He said parasitic worms are a danger to people, worm infection can reduce the quality of life of children, inhibit their physical growth and mental development.
While reviewing the maternal death, the District Magistrate gave strict instructions to the officials of the Health Department to continuously monitor, counsel and take care of pregnant women with third delivery, keeping them at high risk. All the MOICs were instructed to provide reports on the health of the mother and the child after holding a meeting with the sub-divisional magistrate, BDO, BEO, CDPO under their jurisdiction. The District Magistrate said that ASHAs should do counseling of pregnant women along with their couples and make sure to provide weekly report of action on every Monday. He said that saving the lives of pregnant women and children should be the first priority, every possible effort should be made for this, there should be no negligence anywhere, otherwise necessary action will be taken against the concerned.
CDO Manish Kumar, Trainee IAS Asima Goyal, CMS Amit Rai, DEO Secondary Uma Panwar, DEO Basic VK Dhoundiyal, DPO Shohaib Hussain, ATO Arvind Chauhan, ADIO Information Bhajani, along with officers/employees of Health Department were present in the meeting.
