Kedarnath: The doors of the world famous Lord Kedarnath’s Kshetrapal (guardian) Bhairavnath have been closed by following of tradition. Now on October 27, the doors of Kedarnath Dham will be closed for six months of winter. Every year, before closing the doors of Lord Kedarnath,(I.e. lord shiva) the doors of Bhairavnath, the protector of Kedarnath, are closed. This is a tradition that the doors of Bhairavnath are closed either on Saturday or Tuesday. This time the doors of Kedarnath Dham are closing on 27th October.
So earlier in the afternoon, the priest Gangadhar Ling conducted a Worship of lord Bhairav and perform Arti. In the temple special invocation was made along with various other traditional rituals and worshiped god Bhairav. According to religious belief, Bhairav is considered the Kshetrapal (guardian) of lord Shiva.
Considering this, those who pay their obeisance at the Kedarnath temple are also expected to visit the Bhairav temple in order to get their wishes fulfilled. It is said that a devotee going to Kedarnath must have perform a darshan of Lord Bhairavnath. On Saturday, Gangadhar Linga, the priest of Kedarnath Dham, closed the doors of Lord Bhairavnath by following set up rituals and beliefs.
